Some of you may have watched turfchat online via turfrepublic.com turfdiseases.org or their you tube channel. Turfchat is the brain child of Dr John Kaminski from Penn State University and maker of Turfpath app. There are always different people who are on the chat from university professors, superintendents, consultants and trade reps.

Bill Brown a good friend of mine and is the CEO and was a certified GCSAA superintendent for many years. I was joined by fellow twitter users
Brett Morris (Brisbane Golf Club, Qld) and Martin O’Malley (Lynwood Country Club, NSW), curator David Phillips (Ashgrove Sports Grounds, QLD.
We were joined with former LA Country Club director of golf courses and grounds Bruce Williams, California based irrigation and turf consultant Mike Huck and facilitator and Turf Republic CEO Bill Brown.
The chat was done through Google Plus live hangout feature. You may have seen some of these online. This is a great tool to utilise so if you haven’t joined up to google plus its very easy just go to plus.google.com

I’d like to thank the AGCSA who posted a story in the cut last week (7th June).
On a final note on turfchat this would not of been possible if it wasn’t for social media. I have made many contacts through using social media especially twitter and those contacts which I have met in person have become friends and have helped contribute to the information I bring to you with this blog. So if you want to join the conversation we are planning to do more of Turfchat Australia please get in touch with me via email or twitter.
